Neiman-Marcus at 'The Bravern'

Hi Everyone,

I have this wonderful Sister Wilson serving with me in the Washington Seattle Mission and we went out to lunch so we could see this fancy new mall in the Bellevue area. So we ate at Neman Marcus and afterwards we just had to have our picture taken by a valet young man who has a job of parking cars. We loved his uniform and he was most charming. Hopefully, I can get the picture on my blog.

Love to everyone...Grandma June

Ben Elder arrives in Seattle Aug 14, 2009

Hi Everyone,

Just an update about another one of our grandsons coming home from his mission. Ben served faithfully in the Uruguay mission and used his mission time to the fullest. His
mission President sent us a letter telling about Ben's callings while he served his mission and he gave his all to whatever he was called to do.

Here are some pictures of our greeting him when he arrived in the SeaTac airport.

Lake Chelan July 2009 Family Reunion

Well we had our family reunion and the whole week was wonderful. Adam and Tracy and little Kaelin flew in and also Charlie and Analee and Nate and little 5 1/2 old week, Mason.
On July 12th we had our Sunday roast dinner with the above as well as Michael who was able to visit Ashlee on her mission in the Washington Everett mission. We all were excited about that.

Early Monday morning the group above (except for Michael) all met here along with Dave and Michele and their big boat and away we went to Chelan. We all stopped in Leavenworth, Washington for our great ice-cream cone. The little ones were able to get out and run around and they loved that.

Arrived at Chelan resort (The Big D) around 3 PM and we had to share rooms till the penthouse became available the next day. All worked out great.

On Tuesday morning we had a continental breakfast and that was quick and yummy. The room was to small to cook my usual pancake and eggs and sausage breakfast.
On Tuesday our room became available around 10:30 AM and we finally were all moved in by 11:30 AM.

Dave and Michele's boat was used everyday and everyone certainly enjoyed that boat and we all were very grateful to have the boat at Chelan.

The meals went well each evening and each family took care of the meal for the night they were assigned to. (Thanks to Michele Elder for all her arranging of who to cook when).

There were a few games of water volley ball and we played pickleball and tennis and swam in the wonderful pool which was close to the penthouse. Michael rented a jet ski and that was used each day and everyone had fun on that.

On Tuesday evening we had our Family home evening and everyone updated us about what is going on in their lives.

Wednesday at 3 PM there was a baby shower for Dasha Bundy (married to Chris) and they are expecting their baby girl October 31st. Fun shower...

Thursday evening we had talent night and that went well for everyone. Lots of talent in this wonderful family of ours.

Now this is about all for today. I hope to post pictures next time I'm on my blog.

Love Grandma June

Our trip to Branson, Mo. May 2008

We went to hear Andy Williams sing and what a show that was.

Above is our picture with a life size photo of Andy.

This picture of me are the two stars of the
"Star Spangled Celebration of Broadway" Great music and lovely singing. This woman on the right sang "Over the Rainbow" the best ever. Gramps wanted to see who is more muscular. This young man did all kinds of wonderful acts at the show titled "Acrobats of China" We were amazed of their bicycle tricks, pole climbing, plates spinning, Roller skating on a small round table (two girls) were skating and going round and round.

This man with the guitar sang to us at a breakfast spot in Branson. Great fun and good breakfast.

This act on the right is from the china show and the act was hard to believe. Such strength and timing.

Some of the acrobats of the China Shanghai Circus.

This is on the way in to hear Andy William sing. His theatre seats 2,000 and we were on the 7th row. Gramps worked all this out beforehand. What a guy. We also had dinner just before the show at a place next to Andy William show, it was called "Moon River" restaurant and the food was great.

This young many did a tight rope act and could he ever swing back and forth doing all of his tricks.

Gramps wanted me to take a picture of him with this Indian on a horse. We had lunch at this place, it was just across from where we were staying.

Of course there is always time to go shopping. This picture shows Branson Landing which has about 100 speciality stores. You can just stroll and enjoy the shops and the beauty of the area.

This picture shows where our room was. On the right is the room with a king size bed and we could also enjoy the deck right off our room.

This is what our room looked like inside. It was tastefully decorated. Very comfortable bed.

This is what the place looked like from the street. Very nice.

Of course you know we always have to have some icecream. Very rich icecream and so tasty.

Dad enjoying the land around the Andy Williams theatre.

Ashlee enters MTC

April 30, 2008. Ashlee enters the MTC in Provo, Utah. Ashlee will be serving in the Washington Everett mission and is excited to be a sister missionary and help give the gospel to those in the Everett Washington mission. We were in Utah last weekend for her farewell and she gave two great talks for her two farewells. One in her family ward and one in the singles ward. We heard both talks and she was great. Before she left Ariz. she also spoke in that singles ward as well. So she was given quite a big send off by many loving family members both in Ariz. and also Utah. Grandpa Dick and Grandma June were very thankful that they could share in this happy time with Sister Ashlee Elder. We are very proud of her and as we are also very proud of all of our grand children. The picture on the right is Ashlee with a few of her siblings. Austin (big guy) and Katie and Kevin Elder. Ashlee has 11 brothers and sisters and the whole family loves her very much.
